Fair question i guess… Just wondering though, do u fight? I agree, 9-7-8 isn’t a great record but records can be deceiving. You would probably say that my record is ordinary as well. But a few of my losses have been because i’ve fought guys quite a bit bigger than me or because i took them on short notice, having said that i’m not making excuses, i chose to take the fights and i lost, that’s all there is to it. i also took the fights to gain experience. That’s how u gotta do it when ur starting out, u don’t get to pick and choose who u want to fight. I’ve never gotten to choose someone to fight. Even the guys at the top level don’t choose who they want to fight. GSP (who is regarded as one of the pound for pound best MMA fighters in the world) has only ever asked Dana White for one fight and that’s Nick Diaz. Who knows, this guy could be much better than his record suggests.
To be honest, I’m just happy to get the opportunity to fight in Japan on a decent promotion, it would be a bit of a “dick” move to say to the promoter, “nah i’m not fighting that dude, he’s not good enough” especially when i’m new to the promotion and to them i’m a nobody (if u do fight then u would know that, if u don’t then that’s cool). If i do well, then perhaps next time i’ll fight someone who u think is “worth while”. also, this guy has had quite a few more fights than me, and is walking around at over 10kg heavier than me, so i don’t suspect that it’s going to be an easy fight at all. Hope that offers you some insight as to why i’m not fighting someone “worth while”.
